

Marilyn L. Bonetati earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, with a degree in Mathematics, Physics, English and Speech. She was made a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Ms. Bonetati then obtained her Master of Arts Degree from California State College, Los Angeles. Thereafter, she received her Juris Doctor degree from Western State University, College of Law, graduating cum laude. Ms. Bonetati graduated in the top two percent of her class, was Managing Editor for Law Review, recipient of the Outstanding Editor Award, Research Director and recipient of the ABest Brief award for Moot Court. Ms. Bonetati also received five American Jurisprudence Awards in Civil Procedure I and II, Evidence, Property and Trust and Wills. Ms. Bonetati was admitted to the California Bar in 1985. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and all of the United States District Courts in California.

Thomas P. Abbott has practiced law in California for the past 38 years. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1987 after graduating from Pepperdine School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate Degree. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Saint Mary’s College of California in 1983.
Mr. Abbott is a highly accomplished litigation attorney whose practice has focused on property, casualty, and general liability insurance defense, with a particular emphasis on complex construction litigation. He has extensive experience representing developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in commercial and residential construction defect disputes. His career has included defending claims involving structural defects, water intrusion, landslides, subterranean construction, and multimillion-dollar commercial and residential projects.
In addition to his work in construction litigation, Mr. Abbott has handled matters involving insurance fraud, product liability, premises liability, and catastrophic injury claims. He is a seasoned trial lawyer, having handled more than 20 jury trials and as well as hundreds of mediations and arbitrations.
